The Victor Schœlcher manuscripts on line

The Schœlcher Library has digitized and put on line its collection of Victor Schœlcher (1804-1893) manuscripts. This collection is composed both of Schœlcher’s original gift to Martinique and of successive acquisitions made in the 20th century. It is made up of autographed letters and correspondence received, travel notes, speeches, membership cards, drafts of unpublished works, etc. It is henceforth freely available on the BNPM. It gives us an understanding of the philosophical, political and social commitments of the great French abolitionist.
