Navigating in the map
Filtering the results in the map
You have the option of filtering within the map itself. You can discover the distribution by topic of the results of your search by clicking on the arrow to the right of the word ‘Display’ in the upper left corner of the map. You can choose to display only the information that interests you by deactivating the results you do not wish to display.
Doing a zoom
You can limit the display of the data to a specific zone in Martinique. For this, you can use the functionalities of the zoom in the upper right corner of the map. To zoom you will have to slide the cursor of the zoom scale up or click on the icon ‘Plus’.
To zoom out you have to slide the cursor down or click on the icon ‘Less’.
Moving within the map
Once you have the right level of zoom, you can move within the map by sliding the mouse (keep your finger on the mouse whilst you move it).
You can also click on one of the cardinal points situated on the compass rose top right of the map (here towards the east).
By clicking on the arrow situated to the right of the word ‘Scale’ bottom left of the map, you can open a dropdown menu enabling you to choose a predefined scale. You can zone the map on:
- A district
- A town
- A neighbourhood
- A street
Consulting a document description
By clicking on a dot on the map representing a resource (for example, a building), you have access to its description. A window opens indicating the title of this resource (for example here The new Terres-Sainville church).
You will know what type of resource it is thanks to the colour of the left-hand bookmark (green for documents, red for built heritage, yellow for movable objects and violet for archaeology).
By clicking on the title, a window opens on the map to the right giving an initial description of the resource. By clicking on the appropriate link, you can also discover the detailed description or consult the image or images in the viewer.
